The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies to the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency reported it truly is alarmed with regard to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The provider issue produced for intervention activities a superior influx of likely beneficiaries, that makes it difficult to the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to permit the servicing of all prospects and increase entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
